Chasing Ghosts – Beyond the Arcade

Chasing Ghosts – Beyond the Arcade was another great classic arcade video.
This film is focused around the 1983 Life photo of Arcade champions for game like Donkey Kong, Pac-man, Berzerk.
It includes:
Modern day Interviews
Twin Galaxies and their 1982 video game championship
Billy Mitchell
Walter Day Singing?

The Space Invaders – In Search of Lost Time

I just watched the film: The Space Invaders – In Search of Lost Time. It’s an hour 24 minutes long.
This is the story of arcade video games, and their second life in basements and garages all across the country.
Interview with other arcade collectors
Shows tons of great classic machines
Home arcades
StarCade (remember that videogame TV gameshow?)
Some old arcade footage
Great old stories.
Plus a frustrating story of City Hall trying to tell a home collector to remove all of him games. SO ridiculous, but it’s not the first time I’ve heard of this.

Hey if you like classic arcade games, watch this film! Here’s a link to it:

The return of the Vectrex!

The original Vectrex Arcade system was released in 1982. It was such an amazing system but had very bad timing. It came with it’s own monitor, controller and even Mind Storm which was an Asteroids clone. Plus it was PORTABLE. I’ve owned a few of them over the years in my buy and sell phase of old arcade games. I was mostly an Atari 2600 collector, but how could I not add a Vectrex to my collection. Even have one in it’s original box in my collection still. So what’s this news about? It’s the release coming for the iPhone and iPad of the Vectrex Regeneration! It can be played with or without an overlay and will work with the iCade controller. You can get more updates on Twitter.

Missile Command 2 FOUND!

Missile Command by Atari came out in 1980 and was a huge hit. I know I dumped quarter after quarter into it. There are other games like Missile Command, but Atari never did a follow up. Like Pole Position and Pole Position 2, Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe. Recent AtariScott on the KLOV forums posted images of a Prototype Missile Command 2. Wait what?? This may be the only copy of Missile Command 2 to survive.
